My Weight Loss Journey

I am going to get really open and brave here. I have decided to share my weight loss journey with all of you who follow my blog and may need a little extra motivation. Plus, I am hoping that it will keep me accountable for my actions and help me be more successful.

Over time I will share with you what I have done that works and doesn’t work. I will share ways you can lose weight at home without a gym, because if you are like me, you just can’t go to the gym. I am even working on an emotional post (at least for me) that explores my relationship with food and why I have been struggling with my weight for a long time.

I decided to start my weight loss journey at the beginning of the year, as I have every year without much success. I am hoping that by sharing my story and regular updates I will not only help you, but in turn you can help me.

My Weight Loss Journey

At the beginning of the year I was at my heaviest, at 200 pounds. I decided that I wanted to lose 60 pounds over the course of the year, meaning I was aiming to lose 5 pounds a month, which I thought would be an achievable goal. In January I had lost 7 pounds and I thought I was doing great. In February we visited with family for a weekend and when we came home everything just went downhill from there. As of the first of March, I am back up to 200 pounds. 🙁

I am still going to aim to lose 60 pounds for the year and with your help I know I can do it!

As a nurse I feel like a hypocrite when I am talking to someone about their weight when I am overweight.

Along with that though, I am not going to let a number on the scale define my life. I am going to go with how I feel and look along with the number on the scale.

I also will be doing everything the healthy way. No supplements or fad diets. I will just be eating healthy and moving more and I will share what I am doing with you so you can lose weight the healthiest way possible.

I always have an excuse about why I can’t work out. Either I am too tired and I don’t want to get out of bed or I have something else going on that I can’t workout. Currently, I have a strained muscle in my back and can’t workout (I have pain just getting a shower and moving at times). I am almost healed now, and once I am healed, no more excuses. I will workout at least 3-5 times per week.
