Hello my loyal readers! It’s official, I have a new blog name and design. It is finally up and running and I am back! I have picked the picture above for this post because I think it is beautiful and symbolizes a restart.
I am sorry that I have been gone for so long and so much has changed in the past month and a half. I have still been writing posts, so I have a lot of great content to share with you still. I wanted to let you know a little bit about why I did the name change and the domain change.
First of all, the name change. I felt that “All Out Blog” just didn’t make sense. I have said before that I am horrible at naming things, other than my daughter. Since I am a mom and a registered nurse, Mommy, RN just fit.
Second, the domain change. This took the longest time of all of it because no one offers services to help with this and not many people out there know how to do it. I will post more on how to do this later, but if you want help I have decided to offer my services to others who want help. If you are interested, just let me know. Anyway, I changed the domain name for a couple of reasons. First off, a “.net” domain name is harder to find because most bloggers don’t use “.net”. Second, it didn’t make sense to leave Mommy, RN at alloutblog.net.
With the name change and the domain change, I had to get a new blog design. This time around I didn’t mess with fiverr, not that there is anything wrong with fiverr, but I just wanted a completely personal site. I went to How Sweet Designs for my blog design and Lovely to C U for my illustration. I have to say that I am very pleased with how it turned out.
There have also been a lot of changes in general with life. I officially work full time at home, 30-40 hours per week, before it was just 30 hours. I have also decided to try to write a book since it is National Novel Writing Month, not sure how well it will go, but we will see.
Lastly, we have had several issues with eczema, which I will talk about dealing with more later. In the past month we have made two major changes to try to alleviate her eczema because she would scratch until she bled, we switched to cloth diapers and we have eliminated dairy. I will be sharing my experiences with these in the future.
I have a lot of plans for this blog and as I mentioned earlier, I have several posts ready to go. As always if you have any questions or an idea for a post on Mommy, RN just let me know. You never know I may write a post for you and link back to your blog it you want (or you can remain anonymous).
Have a great day!
