BirchBox May 2016 Review

I absolutely love getting my BirchBox in the mail every month and I love sharing my reviews of each of the products with you so you can find affordable beauty products for yourself that actually work! This month is no different and I have to say that this month’s box was packed with tons of stuff to get you ready for the summer!

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel - Body

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel – Body – $34 – I was really excited to get this exfoliating peel because I have really dry skin coming into the summer. I have to say that I was pleased with this, though my sample was just enough to do my arms. You do have to follow the directions and have the area mostly dry or it won’t work, but if you do it correctly it really does work nicely. Would I spend the money on it? Not sure, but I would maybe use my points to get it. Now, for a limited time you can get a free sample with a qualifying purchase of $25+ of full sized products in the BirchBox shop but using the code BODYPEEL at checkout.

Kálos Skincare Triple Threat Detox Masque

Kálos Skincare Triple Threat Detox Masque – $39 – Actually, as I sit here writing this review I have the mask on for the second time since getting my BirchBox. I love facial masks and I haven’t really had one from BirchBox that I enjoyed this much yet. I can really feel this one working. As I put it on I can feel it exfoliating my skin, then when I stop rubbing it all over my face it has a tingle because it has cayenne in it. After I wait the appropriate amount of time and take it off my skin feels so smooth and looks a lot brighter. It does have a strong smell from the cayenne, but I get used to it after a while. This is something that I would definitely purchase for myself!

ModelCo Lip Lacquer Trio

ModelCo Lip Lacquer Trio – $16 – I only received one as a sample in my box this month, but that was all I needed to know that I don’t like it. First, I got the middle pink color which is too bright for me anyway, but when I opened it, I could tell that it would be sticky. When it is stringy when you open it, I can tell it’s sticky. It didn’t go on smooth at all and stuck in all the creases of my lips. To be honest, I wouldn’t purchase this or recommend purchasing it.

COOLA® SPF 50 Sport - Mango

COOLA® SPF 50 Sport – Mango – $32 – When I first signed up for BirchBox, I received a Coola sunscreen in my box, but it wasn’t scented. This sunscreen goes on nicely and feels more like a lightweight lotion than a sunscreen. I have honestly been using this as a lotion because it smells great and you should protect your face from the sun. I would probably purchase this for myself in the future.

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo - 5.3 oz

amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo – 5.3 oz – $24 – I have received dry shampoos in the past to review and I am not a fan of them. This one is no different. It’s not that it doesn’t work, but my hair is just too greasy if I don’t wash my hair every day. Even dry shampoo doesn’t seem to help it. I am not knocking this product, it just isn’t something I normally use. In general I have had products from this brand before and I have loved them!

As I mentioned, I love getting my BirchBox in the mail every month and I know you would love it too. They even have a BirchBox for the man in your life.

Have you ever tried BirchBox or any of their products? Do you think you will ever sign up for their monthly sample delivery to earn free products?

Thanks for reading, Cassie
